Lately, I have been writing about how I lean on Jesus, through what sounds like “Diary of a Crazy Person”. Now I want to talk to you about the verses that remind me that I can lean on Jesus. The verses written which remind us we have strength and peace through Jesus. When I feel weary, weak, discouraged, or at unrest; I find that reading the Bible puts me back on the right path. Many times I turn to Psalms. However, often I go to a Bible search engine and type in things such as I am feeling discouraged. Or I am weary. However , you will need to leave out the words I am feeling, there used to be search engines that filtered for any word. Today’s Bible search engines like specifics. The one that I used to use that would allow you to choose the option search any word, and actually worked, no longer exists. When they went down, if you were a member, you received an email, which told you they had to pull their engine down due to lack of funding. It was a sad day. However, just like everything else, the Lord helped me over come. There are now many Bible search engines. Maybe if I paid for one, they have the ability to match any word, couldn’t tell you. I don’t pay for any of them. I have not been able to choose a favorite. It also depends on where I am and which device I am using and why. In church I use youversionbible. I do that because I can save the sermon notes because that is where they are posted. Saving sermon notes allows me to review. But I use other search engines for research for my mini articles. The point is God always provides, he always gives us strength. It is there waiting for us to ask. Asking is as easy as opening up your Bible. It does not require a long drawn out prayer. It requires you saying GOD, I NEED… whatever it is that you are lacking. Just like the search engines, God likes specifics. Ask for everything. Have a cold? Ask for healing not just strength to get through the day. When I go to the store, I am more successful if I ask God to buffer me from the people who cause me stress (which is any crowd).
Exodus 15:2: 2 “The Lord is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation.
He is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.
2 Timothy 1:7: 7 For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
Isaiah 40:31: 31 but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Ephesians 1:19: 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength.
2 Thessalonians 3:16: 16 Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.
John 14:27: 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
Jeremiah 29:7: 7 Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”
