The folly of getting man’s approval

Revelations 3: 1-3: Sometimes I sit in this same position, with unfinished work. My prayer for you is that God will see you as striving to complete your deeds.  I know what it feels like to be found wanting in this area.  Where I have started a work for Christ and not finished it because I put it on a shelf.  There is one thing to note, sometimes we get ideas, they are innovative idea, but they are not missions God has given us.  When we try to pursue the ideas, we are seeking self-praise. Remember what it says, don’t let your right hand know what your left hand is doing? (Matthew 6:3) This means do your good works without seeking reward on earth.  But the real lesson here is even if you attend a church that is not interested in doing work for God’s kingdom, you yourself should not stop what you are doing. You do not need man’s approval, you need God.

1“To the angel of the church in Sardis write:

These are the words of him who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars. I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead. Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have found your deeds unfinished in the sight of my God. Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; hold it fast, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you.
