It is one of the most confusing topics in the Bible. Salvation is free, because then Jesus talks about doing the work of His father. How we should follow Jesus’ example.
We learn in Ephesians 2:8-9: For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is theGift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. FREE
John 14:6: 6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Again a Gift, it says we just have to go to Jesus— FREE.
But then there are those verses that talk about following Jesus’ example and we are supposed to do good works. Well, this is true. After we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, then we are to win souls for Him. And once you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you want to spread the good word. You want others to have that peace that you have.
Then further into John chapter 14, we have this: 12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
Jesus tells us we will want to do His work. 15 “If you love me, keep my commands. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.
But I thought Salvation is Free? It is free. Here is the thing, before Jesus we don’t want to be nice to other people. After Jesus you realize that if you want people to see Jesus in you, then you must show the Love of Jesus to others.
