Good Deeds – not by works.

Picture this: A miniature chinese adding machine followed you everywhere. Constantly no matter how much you tried to hide it, it would not be hid adding and subtracting points as you lived. The machine  visible to world.

Everyone would be good out of fear.  Thankfully, God is not like this.  He does not keep score.  According to Revelation 20:11-12 we will be judged according to our works, but Jesus also said that if we accept him as the Savior, which he is, (Luke 12) he will acknowledge us before Heaven.

I was taught that it means that at the final judgement those things that we did – the ones that would have “swiped left” our marbles; Jesus tells God that it is forgiven God throws it out.

My hope is the marbles on the left are just thrown away when we are forgiven. No one ever mentions them.  I guess we’ll find out.

Ephesians 2: 8-9:

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
